There’s nowhere quite like the Mediterranean. The colours, the light, the food. It’s got this energy that’s hard to put into words. And exploring it by sea, with Princess, let us experience it in a completely different way. Unpack once, wake up somewhere new every day, and let the flavours lead the way.
One day we were walking hand in hand through the cobbled lanes of Marseille, stopping for warm pastries and café au lait. The next, we were in Naples, sharing the most incredible pizza we’ve ever had. Crust blistered just right, mozzarella still bubbling. It felt spontaneous, romantic, and completely effortless. The best kind of travel.

But the magic didn’t stop when we stepped back onboard. In fact, some of our favourite meals happened at sea. Sabatini’s gave us rustic Italian dishes that reminded us of lazy lunches in Tuscany. Handmade pasta, rich sauces, glasses of Chianti, and that lovely feeling of being completely looked after. Over at The Catch by Rudi, it was all about seafood. Delicate crudo, crisp white wine, and the freshest flavours, all served with a view of the sunset.
There’s something wonderful about floating between countries while being treated to food that rivals anything we’ve eaten on land. And because everything’s just a few steps away, no taxis, no reservations, no stress, we got to really lean into it. That second glass of wine? Go on then. A long, late lunch that turns into an afternoon nap? Absolutely.
We’re still talking about the day we had a balcony breakfast with nothing but smoked salmon, Champagne, and each other for company. Just us and the sea. It felt indulgent, intimate, and completely ours.
This trip reminded us that love isn’t always about big gestures. Sometimes it’s espresso in a quiet square in Genoa. Sometimes it’s sharing dessert in a candlelit restaurant. Sometimes it’s just being still, side by side, as the ship gently sails on to somewhere new.
