About Princess Cruises

Welcome aboard Princess

Since 1965, Princess Cruises has welcomed guests aboard with a simple idea: travel should feel personal, immersive and unforgettable. What began as a single ship sailing to Mexico has grown into a world-renowned cruise line that connects guests to more than 345 destinations across seven continents.

When people talk about Princess, they often mention the places. Alaska's glaciers and wildlife. Caribbean beaches. Europe's timeless ports. Asia's floating markets. But it's how guests feel along the way that keeps them coming back. Every detail and experience on board is designed to make guests feel appreciated and inspired.

Our story, our promise

The Princess story started small — one ship and a bold vision to change how people see the world. What followed was decades of innovation that helped shape modern cruising itself. Princess was the first to introduce affordable balconies, flexible dining options and even weddings at sea officiated by the ship's captain. These amenities were a reflection of how we saw our guests: not as passengers, but as people with individual preferences and dreams.

Today, Princess is part of Carnival Corporation and headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Princess Cruises operates a fleet of 17 ships with a presence in every region of the globe, all 7 continents. But the best part about Princess Cruises is that scale has never replaced heart. What defines us isn't how many places we visit, but the care that goes into every guest's experience aboard.

Pioneers of cruise innovation

Innovation is about making every guest's journey easier, more personal and more rewarding. That mindset led to our newest ships: Sun Princess and Star Princess — the Sphere Class ships that represent the future of cruising with groundbreaking design and guest experiences.

Princess also created MedallionClass®: a first-of-its-kind experience built around a simple, wearable device called the Medallion®. With tools like OceanNow®, Manage Booking and OceanReady®, guests enjoy a seamless voyage focused on personalization and convenience. Princess was also the first cruise line to launch Movies Under the Stars® — a now-iconic poolside feature — and continues to lead with experiences that surprise and delight in meaningful ways.

Why guests choose Princess

Service that feels like home

There are many cruise lines — so why Princess? Every cruise line has ships, destinations and dining. But Princess guests often compare their experience to the feeling of coming home, even if it’s their first time aboard.

We’ve even earned a nickname that still rings true: The Love Boat®. First made famous in the 1970s, the show introduced millions to the idea of cruising and left a legacy of connection, celebration and heart. Today, that spirit lives on in the way our crew remembers your name and personalizes your stateroom.

Princess Cruises creates memorable moments for families and friends, fostering the connections that earn the "Love Boat" reputation.

The MedallionClass® experience

The MedallionClass® experience was created to take the guesswork out of cruising and replace it with comfort and flexibility.

Guests can board faster, personalize their journey and enjoy service that feels tailor-made. It's a service that anticipates rather than reacts.

Paired with MedallionNet® — fast, reliable internet at sea — the MedallionClass experience keeps you connected to what matters.

345 destinations, 7 continents

Princess sails to more places than any other major cruise line — more than 345 destinations across seven continents. Each itinerary is built to help guests go beyond the guidebooks and into the heart of every place they visit.

Immersion beyond the port

Shore excursions are just the beginning. Onboard cuisine, music and live performances reflect the culture of each destination, so the immersion begins before you even step ashore.

Through our immersive programming, destination experts and local storytellers come aboard to share insider perspectives and behind-the-scenes insight. And on land, shore excursions go deeper than sightseeing, offering opportunities to cook with regional chefs, explore UNESCO World Heritage Sites or join small-group adventures curated by local partners.

Life aboard a Princess cruise

Time at sea with Princess is a time for discovery. It's a chance to try something new, reconnect with what you love or simply recharge and relax while surrounded by ocean views.

Culinary journeys

Dining aboard Princess is a celebration of place, season and craft. Regional specialties bring the flavor of each destination on board, while our signature cruise dining rooms and specialty restaurants offer multicourse meals designed to linger over.

For something truly unforgettable, the 360 Experience offers an immersive culinary journey that combines storytelling, ingredients and visuals in a one-of-a-kind event at sea. Don’t forget about a flavorful drink while you dine — we didn’t win the 2025 Award of Excellence: Wine Spectator for nothing.

Entertainment and wellness

What about Princess activities? Every Princess ship offers a rich mix of experiences, whether you want entertainment or recharge time. Signature features like Movies Under the Stars® turn evenings into open-air events, while Broadway-style shows, live music and guest entertainers fill each sailing with fresh energy.

For guests seeking quiet moments or personal care for their wellness, the Lotus Spa® offers treatments ranging from hot stone massages to facials, and the fully equipped fitness centers make it easy to stay active at sea. For pure relaxation, The Sanctuary provides a peaceful adults-only retreat with plush loungers and Serenity Steward service.
