Signature Sips: My Favourite Cocktails on Board Sun Princess
1. Sandía en Fuego
Let’s start with a bit of spice. This beauty is made with Don Julio Reposado tequila, serrano pepper, watermelon, lime and agave.
It’s bold. It’s bright. It’s got a proper kick from the pepper but is mellowed out by the watermelon and lime. It’s a cocktail with a story — and it’s the perfect opener for a long, leisurely dinner.
2. The Great Pumpkin
This one surprised me — and I say that as someone who’s seen just about every flavour come through a shaker.
The Great Pumpkin uses Bacardi 8 rum, aquafaba (that’s chickpea foam for a velvety texture), pumpkin syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg and lemon. It’s warm, spiced, a little indulgent — and perfect as a dessert cocktail or something to sip as the sun goes down.
It’s also got a bit of theatre to it, which I love. Cocktails should be a bit of a moment, after all.
3. Azul Blanco
Now this one is pure holiday joy. Silver tequila, lime, blue curaçao, pineapple and elderflower foam. It’s tropical, fun, and almost too pretty to drink — but please do, because it’s delicious.
It works beautifully with grilled fish, salty snacks or just on its own while you’re soaking up the sunshine.
A Word to the Wise
The bar teams on board really care about what they serve. So if you’re not sure what to order, chat with them. Tell them your go-to flavours — sweet, sour, citrusy, bitter — and let them work their magic.
Whether you’re at the pool bar, sipping pre-dinner drinks at Bellini’s, or settling in at the signature cocktail lounge, Crooner’s, there’s always something worth toasting.
