Naples Treasure Hunt (walking tour)
A treasure hunt through the heart and soul of Naples leads you through the historic streets and takes you to some of its most culturally significant sights. Watch, listen and look for clues as you are led through the vibrant streets of Naples, past historic landmarks, majestic churches and traditional buildings. Keep an eye out for the symbol of red peppers on the balconies and doors; their hot flavor wards off evil tongues. Pay attention to the tales your guide weaves into the tapestry of all you see-there will be a quiz at the end of the hunt!
What you will see along the way:
Walk through Piazza Municipio, dominated by the 13th-century Castel Nuovo, surrounded by deep moats. Cross into the semicircle Piazza Plebiscito, the largest square in Naples, flanked by the Royal Palace and the Church of San Francesco di Paola. Marvel at the Teatro di San Carlo, the oldest opera house in Europe, and the impressive neoclassical architecture of the Umberto Gallery. Continue along Via Toledo, one of Naples' longest streets. Admire the Church of Sant'Anna Dei Lombardi and the Church of Santa Maria Anime del Purgatorio. Your treasure hunt ends with a flourish at Naples Cathedral.

You'll want to have your camera, as there is something exciting to photograph around every bend. You'll want to focus your lens on the festive atmosphere of the San Gregorio Armeno district, where you'll find yourself celebrating Christmas no matter the season!
