Clifton Station
In 1857 James Gillespie Gordon departed his native Scotland with his two sons in tow and made his way to the North Island of New Zealand. Seven generations later the Gordon family are still farming the land, grown to an estate of some 13,000 acres. In a region where sheep farming is still the leading industry, the area is also known for hiking and camping. A sheepdog exhibition shows the important role dogs play. You'll watch a fascinating sheep shearing demonstration and delight in the charming, pastoral grounds.

Arataki Honey
Famous for its fun and interactive Visitor Centre, Arataki Honey is the sweetest place in town to learn about honeybees, how they live, their role in the food chain and the wonderful products they produce.

What you will see along the way:
Explore the Napier region on a pleasant countryside drive that begins at port and travels along Napier's Marine Parade, lined with lovely Norfolk pines. Follow the coastline to Clive before turning toward Cape Kidnappers, where Clifton Station farm is located. Continue on after your visit with a scenic drive through the beautiful Tuki Tuki Valley for panoramic views of Te Mata Peak. Conclude with a drive to port through Napier's legendary art deco district.

Enjoy light refreshments at Clifton Bay Cafe, which has a stunning beachfront location looking across Hawke's Bay. When you stop at Arataki Honey, you'll be treated to a sample of this golden delight.
