What You Will Visit:
ZipRider® Thrill Ride
A 90-second thrill ride like no other! The Icy Strait ZipRider is the longest and highest ZipRider, located 1,330 feet above sea level, higher than the Empire State Building. The ZipRider offers a spectacular thrill ride experience with magnificent views. The ZipRider boasts six cables, which means that six riders, seated in a special harness can go at the same time, so prepare for a race to the bottom! Accelerating to 60 mph, participants "fly" an incredible 300 feet above the rainforest below and land gently on the beach.
A 4x4 side-by-side TOMCAR off-road vehicle is your rugged ride through the Alaskan wilderness. After a safety briefing, follow rugged trails that traverse the forests and valleys, providing ocean vistas and views of stunning mountainous scenery. Please note this is a remote, dirt-trail experience and the ride will be bumpy.
What You See Along The Way:
During your exhilarating 90-second ZipRider experience, take in sweeping views of Port Frederick, Icy Strait and your cruise ship. Keep an eye out for wildlife sightings as well! For your ATV Expedition, an expert guide will provide an informative narrative of the area's history en route to the departure site, which sits on the flanks of Hoonah Mountain on majestic Chichagof Island. This small-group experience is designed to give guests an intimate experience of the temperate rainforest that surrounds this island paradise.
The ATV expedition offers stops along the way to allow guests to switch to the driver's seat, there will also be plenty of time to take in the breathtaking views of Icy Strait and take photographs.
