WHAT YOU VISIT
- Good Hope Estate Great House
Dating back to 1774, the 2,000-acre sugar plantation has been meticulously restored to its original splendor and offers a look at colonial living in the 18th century. Once known as the "the jewel of the Caribbean," Good Hope was the largest plantation in Jamaica and reminders of its success dot the landscape. Stroll through the breathtaking grounds and discover the ruins of buildings such as the water wheel and kiln. A lily pond, a swimming pool, stables, tennis courts, a pottery barn and a beach also grace the exquisite parkland.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
Every angle of this beautiful 18th century Georgian mansion is picture perfect. Wander around the estate and revel in the unparalleled views that have remained untouched since Col. Thomas Williams built Good Hope for his wife, Elizabeth, in 1755.

SHOPPING
Good Hope is also the home to the Trading House, the only store of its kind in the Caribbean that offers Jamaican-made art, carvings, books and souvenirs..

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Traveling south from Falmouth you'll notice the terrain change from bustling town to the lush greenery of the Cockpit Mountains.
