What you will visit:

The Henry Jones Luxury Hotel
This unique hotel, housed in a converted warehouse near picturesque Franklin Wharf, was built in 1823 as a jam factory and is Tasmania's first dedicated art hotel. With its original rough-hewn walls, tin ceilings and exposed wooden beams, the hotel is a delightful contrast between the building's historic past and all of the modern luxuries. The views are stunning both indoors and out. The wharfside setting offers a panorama of the glistening harbor, while the interior is home to some 500 hand-selected pieces of contemporary artwork by Tasmanian artists, from both established and emerging artists.

Old Kempton Distillery
The town of Kempton is a short drive from Hobart and is home to the delightful Old Kempton Distillery. Located in a converted 1840s colonial inn, the distillery offers delicious, locally sourced cuisine. A traditional Devonshire tearoom and charming renovated rooms in the main manor take you back in time. Tours are led by Robbie Gilligan, president of the Tasmanian Whisky Producers Association, and allow full access to the distillery. Join Robbie in a guided tasting of the distillery's wares, including the winner of the 2018 World Whiskey Award for single malt, 12 years and under.

What you will see along the way:
Founded in 1804, Hobart is the second oldest capital in Australia. Originally a penal colony, the town has many historic buildings in the wharf area that were built by convict labor. Once a major whaling and sealing port, Hobart is still an important shipping center and acts as a gateway to Antarctica. Its historic waterfront district is a major attraction. This picturesque city winds along both banks of the Derwent River, with Mount Wellington serving as a majestic backdrop to this lovely town.

Tasting:
The Kempton Distillery offers a variety of small-cask whisky, including the winner of the World Whiskey Awards 2018 prize for best single malt, 12 years and under. A personalized tour with full backstage access through the distillery and bond store, finishing with a guided tasting of their best spirits, is a rare chance to taste whisky directly from its cask, meet the distiller and interact with him personally.
