Departing your ship, you'll board your motorcoach as your begin your narrated tour. You'll travel first into the city and to Senate Square. This is center for arts, culture, religion, politics and education. Four main buildings make up the Square and were designed by famed architect Carl Ludvig Engel in the early 19th Century: Helsinki Cathedral, the Government Palace, the main building of the University of Helsinki and the National Library of Finland. Helsinki Cathedral is arguably Finland's most famous and photographed building; it celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2002.

From here, you'll proceed to the beautiful and exceptional Sibelius Monument. Dedicated to famed Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, the park and unique abstract monument was meant to reflect the rugged natural beauty of Finland, as inspired by Sibelius' work Finlandia.

After your visit, you'll return to your motorcoach for the scenic ride, past old estates and verdant farms to Porvoo, Finland's second oldest city, founded in 1346. Although it lives in the present, many aspects of the area have been left untouched by the passage of time. You'll have time to explore its narrow lanes, view its historic buildings and visit its central square on a walking tour of the city's historic old quarter, before enjoying some time on your own for shopping and strolling.

By now you'll be ready for a break. Your motorcoach will take you to Kiala Manor, a distinctive restaurant situated in the former cellars of a distillery, where you'll get to relax and enjoy a delicious traditional Finnish-style lunch.

After your repast, you'll return to Helsinki and more spectacular sightseeing. You'll visit Temppeliaukio Church, or the Church in the Rock. The underground Rock Church is built inside of a massive block of natural granite in the middle of an ordinary residential square. Natural light pours in from the church's glazed dome and the rough stoned interiors amplify sound, making it an excellent and unique concert venue.

Your last stop will be at the bustling Market Square. The rows of tents and stalls selling fur clothing, jewelry, food and souvenirs and more make for a fun and festive atmosphere. You'll have time to find your treasures before your day concludes with the short ride back to your ship.

Temppeliaukio Rock Church is sometimes closed for religious observances and private functions; entry not guaranteed.

If Market Square is closed, an alternative shopping area will be visited.

Shopping is extremely limited on Sundays.
