Pacific Princess Update

Pacific Princess arrived today at the Port of Los Angeles (San Pedro, California) to disembark 119 guests with no COVID-19 positive cases or illness onboard. Of the 119 passengers who remained onboard, 109 were deemed, under IATA medical clearance guidelines, to be medically unfit to undertake a long-haul flight back to the United States from Australia (for reasons unrelated to COVID-19).

Disembarkation may take several days as Princess Cruises is coordinating all homeward travel, including chartered flights and private ground transportation.

Pacific Princess departed Port Everglades (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida) on January 5 for a 111-day World Cruise. In response to the global spread of COVID-19, Princess Cruises announced a voluntary 60-day pause of operations on March 12, becoming one of the first companies in the leisure travel industry to take this proactive measure. The operational directive following this announcement was to end each cruise as soon as possible while being able to assure guests could continue their journey home by air travel safely and with certainty. Pacific Princess ended a segment of the current cruise early on March 21, disembarking most guests in in Fremantle, Australia. After departing Fremantle the ship made two service calls, one at Melbourne, Victoria on March 28 and one at Honolulu, HI on April 13.

There are currently 115 guests onboard sailing back with the ship to Los Angeles, which will take an estimated 14 days.

An additional service call is anticipated in Honolulu, Hawaii on April 13 before arrival to Los Angeles. The arrival date in Los Angeles will be confirmed soon. Guests continue to receive complimentary internet for the remainder of their journey.
