Cruises to Bar, Montenegro

Fun fact: The country of Montenegro technically has two capitals, and you can experience them both on this tour. Start by walking through the youngest capital in Europe—Podgorica, the judicial seat of the country—with winding streets. See the Sahat Kula clock tower that’s standing from the Ottoman Empire invasion in the 15th century. Finally, you’ll head to Cetinje, home to the president and the country’s historic capital, to tour the National Museum and the official state apartments.  

Find yourself in ancient Montenegro in Stari Bar, a village that’s been around since the fifth century BC. It’s one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic Coast! You’ll explore a historic Turkish bath and 600-year-old fortress walls. And then your tour will take you to Ulcinj, another ancient settlement on the coast, to learn all about the area’s history at the Archaeological Museum, Ethnological Museum and Local History Museum. 

Olives first came to Montenegro 2,000 years ago, and olive oil production became a part of the culture by the 6th century. Head to Olio Monte refinery that spans 12,000 square meters and produces nearly 264 gallons of virgin and extra-virgin olive oil every year. You’ll walk the scenic olive groves and, of course, sample some of the zesty oils made right where you strolled.
