WHAT YOU VISIT
Nin
Measuring just 500 meters (1,640 feet) across, Nin is proof that big surprises come in small packages. Your guide will lead you along the narrow, cobblestone streets of the 3,000-year-old town center past well-preserved Roman, early medieval, Romanesque and Venetian architecture. Just outside of Old Town sits Nin Salt Works. Learn how the salt is still harvested by hand in open-air salt fields like the Romans did 1,500 years ago as you tour the House of Salt and the Museum of Salt.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
Acclaimed as the iconic symbol of Nin, the Church of St. Nicholas stands as a reminder to Nin's royal past. According to tradition, seven kings were crowned in Nin, and every crowned ruler rode on horseback to the church to be presented to his royal subjects. Dating back to the 12th century, it's renowned as Dalmatia's only preserved example of early-Romanesque architecture.
SNACK
Your tour of Nin concludes with a snack at a local restaurant. Enjoy your quiet surroundings of Dalmatian pines and dramatic karst formations as you indulge in homemade specialties of smoked ham, cheese and freshly baked bread, accompanied by a glass of wine.
