WHAT YOU VISIT
Tanioka Lacquer Craft Shop
This family-run business is noted for its Kishu lacquerware, an art form that dates back 600 years. Traditional artisan Kumiko Tanioka will conduct the studio tour and share the time-honored methods and techniques behind the painstaking manufacturing process of Kishu lacquerware. Learn how Kishu is distinguished by its simple yet sophisticated decorations, which can be based on drawings or carvings with inlays of sea shells, pearl, gold and silver foil.

Nakano BC Brewery
Known for its award-winning sake, the brewery also produces "tarujikomi umeshu hyakuyaku," a liqueur made from cask-aged plums. After a brewery tour, you'll attend a workshop where you will enjoy learning about its history and making your own plum wine.
