WHAT YOU VISIT
Trondheim Bicycle Tour
After a safety briefing, you'll hop on your bike and pedal your way around some of the city's most impressive sights. Your guide will lead you along the fjord and across the new bike bridge for superb views of Munkholmen, Trondheim's fortress island and the site of public executions during the Viking age. Continuing on, you'll ride through the historical Bakklandet district, with its picturesque wooden houses and the site of the Trampe, a lift specifically designed for cyclists that goes 492 feet up the steep hill almost all the way up to the Kristiansten Fort. On your way back to the bike center, you'll cross the modernized part of Solsiden, a former ship yard now dotted with restaurants and bars and a popular haunt with the locals.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY
Enjoy a break and admire the majestic Nidaros Cathedral, the largest medieval building in Scandinavia and Norway's most important church; and Archbishop's Palace, one of the largest medieval stone structures in Scandinavia.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
As you pedal along, you'll learn that through the centuries, the city experienced several major fires and a majority of the wooden medieval buildings were lost, and the fire in 1681 led to the rebuilding of almost the entire city. One of the most notable structures is the Kristiansten Fortress built to protect the city from being invaded.
