Your tour begins as you board your transportation for a scenic drive through Port of Spain to the Royal Botanic Gardens.
En route, pass the lighthouse and the striking Red House, the seat of Parliament in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago built in German Renaissance style. Along your route, drive past the Magnificent Seven, a group of extravagant and eccentrically designed mansions lining the western side of the Queen's Park Savannah, built around the turn of the 20th century. Keep your camera ready for photo opportunities at virtually every turn.
Upon arriving at the Royal Botanic Gardens, take a short stroll among a cool, shady enclave of exotic trees and tropical flowers, and capture a photo or two. Continue onward with a short drive to Lady Young Lookout for a stunning panoramic view of Port of Spain.
Next journey to the edge of Trinidad's tropical forest to ascend to Mount St. Benedict's Monastery, also known as the Abbey of Our Lady of Exile, nestled peacefully in the mountains. Here, your guide will offer a cultural and historical perspective of the monks who lived the contemplative life for decades.
Your tour concludes with a visit to a beautiful church set on the mountain side, whilst taking in the breathtaking view of Central and Southern landscapes. Enjoy complimentary tea, coffee, fruit punch and homemade bread before your return drive to the pier.
