WHAT YOU VISIT
Zuiryuji Temple
Established in the early 17th century, this serene Buddhist temple is a pristine example of the architecture of the Edo period. Its intricately carved roof and welcoming entrance gates were rebuilt in the 1820s after a fire in 1746 and its public chamber, main hall and temple building are designated National Treasures. Explore the expansive grounds and enjoy the serenity and calm of this significant temple complex.
Kansui Park
Called an oasis in the heart of Toyama, the park is designed around a canal with walking paths and sloped lawns on both sides. A pleasing space for people of all ages from children to the elderly, the park boasts a square with a spring and waterfall, a playground and Tenmon-kyo Bridge, which spans the canal and is a symbol of the park.
Suiboku Museum
This graceful museum exhibits Japanese ink wash paintings (suibokuga), influenced by Chinese ink painting traditions.
