What you will visit:
Magnetic Island
Magnetic Island, so called because it apparently had a 'magnetic' effect on Captain Cook's ship compass when he sailed past in 1770 is best explored on a guided drive. More than half of the island is reserved as a National Park and this has preserved stunning scenery and habitats for koalas, possums and rock wallabies, in addition to a variety of birds. Where the headlands meet the sea, secluded beaches have formed, many of which can only be reached on foot or by boat.
Bungalow Bay Koala Village
Nestled on Magnetic Island, this educational eco-tourism center invites guest to
encounter native wildlife on ranger-lead tours. A highpoint of Bungalow Bay Koala Village is the opportunity to hold a koala or baby crocodile for a souvenir photograph (additional charges applies).
What you will see along the way:
Enjoy the picturesque views as you travel 20 minutes by ferry across the clear blue waters of Cleveland Bay to Magnetic Island.
Snack:
A delightful afternoon tea is served at Bungalow Bay Koala Village in the alfresco dining area.
