The Beaches of Marina di Lizzano
Find your place in the sun with an excursion to this uncrowded alternative to Taranto's busier tourist hubs. Stretching out seven kilometers (over four miles), you have a choice of private beaches where you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas or public zones that are free of charge. Yet they all boast beautifully preserved, lush Mediterranean vegetation of native juniper bushes and rosemary-covered dunes that reach heights of two to five meters (about six to 16 feet) above the shoreline. Once you arrive, you can beachcomb, take a dive in the inviting waters or relax on the sand.
