Your tour begins as you board a motorcoach for panoramic drive of Stockholm followed by a scenic drive to Drottningholm Palace. En route, you'll pass through the picturesque western suburbs of Stockholm. Upon arriving, you'll marvel at this magnificent Drottningholm Palace. The structure features magnificent salons from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, a lush park, a unique palace theater and a Chinese Pavilion. Together with your guide, you'll walk through the palace and witness some of the elegantly adorned State Apartments, then make your way to the Drottningholm Court Theatre, one of the world's most famous theatrical establishments. Fully restored, this 18th century Baroque theater boasts the original sets, stage machinery and props, still in perfect working order and in use. Except for the use of electricity, nothing has changed since King Gustav III attended opera performances here. Next, you'll stroll around the Drottningholm Palace Park, an imposing Baroque venue laid out in 1681 according to drawings by Nicodemus Tessin the Younger. Within the park sits a French-inspired Baroque garden created at the end of the 17th century. You're welcome to explore and shop for souvenirs. Your tour concludes with a panoramic drive further exploring the island of Lovön, home to delightful, rural landscapes and the fresh-water, Lake Mälaren.
