What you will visit:
Split Old Town (walking tour)
Split is the largest Dalmatian city and combines urban living with a strong sense of history. Medieval Split was built for the emperor Diocletian in his retirement, and the soothing charms of the Dalmatian Riviera offer a heady blend of natural beauty and fascinating cultural sites to travelers today. The city itself is at least 1,700 years old, although recent archaeological research suggests that it might date back as far as the 6th century B.C. The Old Town is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site and has celebrated a renaissance as the setting for the popular television series "Game of Thrones." Fashionable boutiques are found on the marble-paved Marmontova Street, and the historic People's Square showcases the imposing City Hall building, which is painted bright red.

Diocletian's Palace
Located in the heart of Old Split, this 4th-century palace, built by the Roman Emperor Diocletian in preparation for his retirement in 305 A.D., is a maze of narrow cobbled lanes and large open courtyards that feature striking stone columns. The palace has a colorful history: after the destruction of Salona in the 7th century, refugees made their home here in the palace, which even today features fortified walls, underground rooms and watchtowers as well as The Temple of Jupiter, a 4th-century structure. Originally a Roman temple, it features stone columns, a vaulted ceiling, decorative wall murals and a bronze statue of John the Baptist by renowned sculptor Ivan Meštrović.
St. Dominus's Cathedral
Named after Saint Duje, the patron saint of Split, 7th-century St. Dominus's is one of the city's most treasured landmarks. Noted for its Romanesque architecture and glorious bell tower, it was constructed in 1100 A.D. and offers spectacular views over Split from the top.
Mestrovic Gallery
Ivan Meštrović is considered Croatia's greatest sculptor, and today, his former estate-an elegant neo-classical villa designed by Mestrovic himself in the 1930s-is home to a museum and gallery showcasing 192 of his exceptional sculptures as well as drawings, paintings and architectural plans.
What you will see along the way:
Your leisurely motorcoach drive travels a mountain road and takes in the Cetina River, a magnificent gorge surrounded by the verdant Cetina Valley and sheer limestone cliffs.

Lunch:
In a local restaurant, feast on traditional dishes accompanied by a glass of wine and beautiful vistas overlooking the Cetina River and countryside.

Shopping:
You will enjoy 45 minutes of free time in Split to browse the stalls in the open-air market for souvenirs or crafts, or linger on Marmontova Street, the marble-paved shopping district, with its prestigious high-end boutiques.
