Easy Activity
Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.
The large picture windows of your minibus afford spectacular views as you travel through historic Skagway and along the Klondike Highway up to the West White Pass Summit in the St. Elias Range. This is the highest coastal range in the world, beginning on mainland Alaska extending into Canada.
Driving along the Klondike Highway, you travel one of North America's most scenic mountain roads, paralleling the historic White Pass railroad into the interior. The past comes alive as your guide imparts a century's worth of White Pass stories and identifies numerous glaciers and peaks. There are plenty of sights along the way, including Dead Horse Trail, the old Brackett Wagon Road, Pitchfork Falls and Moore Bridge.
When you reach the summit, 3,290 feet high, the pristine air invigorates you and the vast silence is broken only by the sound of the wind blowing across this moonscape of rock and alpine foliage.Photography opportunities abound, and your guide will gladly take your picture as a memento of your trip at the US/Canada Border.
Your return drive back to the port is equally picturesque and you have the choice of going directly to the ship or being dropped off in town for independent sightseeing and shopping. Additionally, this short excursion with its frequent departures is a perfect option for those wishing to book multiple tours throughout their day.
