What you will visit:
Raabjerg Mile
Raabjerg mile.is the biggest sand dune in the area and the largest migrating dune in Denmark. The dune is about 1km wide and 1km long, it is made up of about 3.5 million square meters sand and is 40 meters high. Each year the dune moves around 15 meters towards Northeast, closer to Grenen, the top of Denmark.
Grenen
A natural phenomenon at Denmark's northernmost point, Grenen is a long sandbar that divides the Skagerrak and Kattegat straits connecting the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. It is possible to straddle the area and put a toe in each waterway, one calm and the other choppy. The very strong current strictly precludes swimming.
What you will see along the way:
The authentic beauty of Skagen comes to life when you discover its charms via motorcoach. Your guided tour meanders throughout this picturesque fishing town and takes you past the white picket fences that front pretty painted homes topped with red roofs, as well as past the local highlights and beautiful scenery that has made it an artists destination for centuries. Stop for a photo by the Buried Church, which bears the name Sct Laurentii, Saint Laurence who was the seafarer's guardian saint. It is estimated to have been built in the second half of the 14th century and was, at that time, the largest church in the Northernmost part of Jutland. When the sand migration reached the church in the 18th century, the congregation had to dig their way into the church, this struggle continued until the church was closed in 1795 by royal decree. Today only the tower is visible.
