What you will visit:
Marine Expedition Adventure
Journey in an open-air rigid-hulled inflatable boat that offers both speed and agility. It is the perfect vessel for exploring Sitka's network of rainforest islands, emerald jewels in the deep blue waters flanked by majestic snow-capped mountains. The nimble boat provides an opportunity to experience up-close views of wildlife, including sea otters, bald eagles, and sea lions, as well as exploration of the shallow waters for a unique perspective on Sitka's amazing biodiversity. When whales are in the area, guests may even have the chance to experience the thrill of viewing these large marine mammals. This zippy experience is best enjoyed if you are dressed in warm layers and wear sturdy footgear. Water-proof jacket and pants are provided.
Fin Island Lodge
Beachcomb, explore the breathtaking grounds or relax by a toasty beach fire on this exclusive island where an Alaska feast is served.
What you will see along the way:
Your captain will steer the vessel through the icy waters of picturesque Sitka Sound, studded with small islands and surrounded by spectacular coastal scenery. Keep an eye out for a variety of wildlife, including whales, sea otters, sea lions, porpoise, seals and bald eagles that make their home among the glacier-carved peaks, secluded passages, and other natural wonders. A naturalist guide offers commentary throughout the tour.
Meal:
A succulent feast is served by an attentive staff amidst spectacular natural surroundings. Tuck into Alaska crab, wild-caught Alaska fish, and tender prime rib along with some tasty side dishes and dessert. Alaska-brewed beers, wine and soft drinks are available for purchase. A breakfast twist on our signature Fin Island feast is featured for guests arriving before 10 a.m. Vegan and gluten free options are available, regardless of tour time.
