What you will visit:
The Azienda Agricola Pupillo:

This classic estate, adjacent to Siracusa, dates back to the 12th century. Four generations of the Pupillo family have lovingly tended the land, and its 20 hectares of vineyards produce three varieties of Moscato di Siracusa: dry, semi-sweet and sweet. The Solacium castle was built for Friederich II of Hohenstaufen, holy Roman emperor and king of Sicily in the Middle Ages, whose political and cultural ambitions stretched through Italy to Germany and as far as Jerusalem.

What you will see along the way:
Italy's largest contiguous grape-growing region is a place of sweeping vistas with rolling hills and vineyards as far as the eye can see against a majestic mountain backdrop. This vast area is larger than Tuscany, and the hearty wines produced here are still used to "fortify" their weaker cousins from the north. The perfect Mediterranean climate, with dry, hot summers and mild, humid winters, also makes for conditions ideal for the production of olives and olive oil.

Snack:
A wine tasting is accompanied by nibbles crafted with typical products of Siracusa.
