Specially trained guides will lead this historic tour of Singapore, focusing on the fall of Singapore during World War II. You will visit the newly restored former Ford Motor Company factory, which was the site of the British surrender to the Japanese in February 1942. At this location, Lieutenant General Arthur Percival unconditionally surrendered the British forces of Malaya and Singapore to the Japanese commander, Lieutenant General Tomoyuki Yamashita. Next, you will visit the Changi Chapel and Museum, a war museum dedicated to Singapore's history during the Second World War and the Japanese occupation of Singapore.
Afterward, you will board your coach before returning to the ship. You will make a stop at the Labrador Park. Labrador Park was established in the late 1860s to protect against pirates and invaders. During World War II, two modern six-inch guns were added to Fort Pasir Panjang, upgrading to Labrador Battery. The guns were operated by a multi-ethnic unit, including Malay soldiers, Indian troops, and British commanders. However, when the Imperial Japanese Army invaded Singapore from the Causeway, the guns proved ineffective due to their armor-piercing rounds.
