Your excursion begins at the pier where you'll board your air-conditioned motorcoach for the drive to your first stop, the school. En route, pass Independence Square. Stop for a photo opportunity at the War Memorial, commemorating Cambodia's war dead.
Upon arrival at the school, you'll meet the children and observe the activities in the kindergarten where they spend their day while the parents work the fields. It's a delightful experience. (You may want to bring some small gifts to share with the children.)
Continue on to Wat Krom, the Buddhist temple at the base of Sihanouk Mountain. Its name is a literal description of its location as "Wat" means temple and "Krom" means "lower." The temple features excellent views of the sea and a small chapel dedicated to Ya-Mao, a local deity. Explore inside, and then head over to Sihanoukville's bustling marketplace, Psar Lu Market. Explore the stalls with its colorful displays of fish and shellfish, poultry, palm sugar, tropical fruits, flowers and crafts.
Continue a panoramic drive along the coastal streets, skirting the beaches of Sihanoukville with photo stops at Golden Lion Square and the Statue of Love.
Afterwards, travel to beautiful Sihanoukville Beach Resort, Sihanoukville's most popular beach resort for approximately three hours of beach time, known for its white-sand beach and dazzlingly clear water. Enjoy a barbecue seafood lunch at the resort before returning to the pier.
