Departing from Messina, you'll board your motorcoach for a scenic ride through the countryside filled with vineyards and citrus groves, past the village of Santa Venerina, and within the Mt. Etna National Park to reach one of the top wine producers in the area, Villa San Michele Estate. Along the way, you'll get to take in some amazing views of the summit of the great volcano, Mt. Etna, the tallest and most active in all of Europe. It's erupted over 130 times in recorded history.

The whole Etna region is characterized by its microclimate of rigid winters, temperate summers and abundant rainfall. These conditions influence the maturity and flavor of the local wines and encourages bouquets and acidity. In addition, the particular taste of Etna wine is enhanced by the lava soil, which is rich in potassium and mineral salts. The results – some of the finest varietals in the country.

Once you arrive at the San Michele Wine Estate, you'll see the vineyards distributed along a terrace, surrounded by a wonderful panorama that stretches from Taormina to Capo Mulini. Enjoy the breath-taking views, meet the Scammacca Family and then tour the winery and the vineyard, before tasting some of the famous Murgo Wine, accompanied by local products. Perhaps you'll find a few favorites to take back with you.

After delighting your eyes and palate, and before ending your intoxicating journey with the beautiful picturesque ride back to Messina and your ship, enjoy a stop at the 1992 lava flow to have a closer look at Mt Etna powerful nature.
