In the Steps of "The Godfather"

This is one tour you simply "can't refuse"! On this must for fans of The Godfather, lace up your walking shoes and prepare to relive your favorite scenes right where they were filmed! Although in the storyline much of the action takes place in Corleone, many of the scenes in the award-winning films were filmed in the Sicilian villages of Savoca and Forzà d'Agrò, both of which you'll visit on this fun-filled half-day tour.
Board the comfortable motorcoach, chat with your fellow travelers and see who can recite the films' most famous lines verbatim. Drive through Messina and along the freeway to Roccalumera. From there, travel a coastline road, flanked by villas, blooming gardens, and picturesque villages, to your first destination, the historical town of Savoca.
Arrive at Savoca, nestled in the hills, and commence your walking tour. The atmosphere immediately takes you back to the movies, and you'll stop at the Church of Santa Maria Degli Angeli, where Apollonia and Michael were married. You too can re-enact the scene by kneeling in the doorway of this plain stone-fronted church. Continue your stroll, snapping photos and participating in the lively commentary.
Then, pose for photos at Bar Vitelli on the beautiful outdoor terrace. You'll see the actual table where Michael Corleone sat asking Apollonia's father for her hand in marriage. Don't leave without sampling a granita di limone in a local bar, the famous treat prepared here. Director Francis Ford Coppola liked it so much that he unsuccessfully tried to purchase the machine and ship it back to America. You'll have a little free time to explore independently before hopping back on the motorcoach for the next stop, the medieval hamlet of Forzà d'Agrò.
Overlooking the Arab-Norman castle of Capo Sant'Alessio, Forzà d'Agrò sports cobblestone roads and the quaint, traditional buildings seen in the background of the Godfather films. The local church, of San Agostino, or Triade and the Baroque Chiesa Madre church, was featured in two movies, and you might remember it from the scene in The Godfather when Michael and his bodyguards meet with Corleone. It is also utilized when young Vito escapes Don Ciccio's men by hiding in a donkey's pack in The Godfather Part II.
Enjoy ample time to explore Forzà d'Agrò before returning to port via a scenic route.
