Discover the wondrous sights and sounds of Huis ten Bosch, a unique village that celebrates the relationship between Japan and the Netherlands when the Dutch East India Company opened a trading post in 1609. This eclectic theme park not only boasts picturesque canals, lush tulip fields and iconic windmills but also Japanese anime characters, amusement rides and audio animatronic attractions. Once you arrive, you're on your own to explore, hunt for that perfect souvenir or grab a local treat. The park's extensive gardens contain 300,000 flowers and the faithful recreations of 17th century architecture lends the park a storybook look and feel. In the center of the 375-acre park you'll find Huis Ten Bosch Palace, a brick-by-brick replica of the former home of Queen Beatrix in The Hague. Lunch is on your own and at the end of your visit, you'll rendezvous with your group for the return to Sasebo.
