WHAT YOU VISIT
Cagliari Underground
Stretching out underneath the districts of Castello, Marina and Stampace, Cagliari's hidden gem showcases life in the city from the 3rd century BC through the 6th century AD. Illuminated by candles, the dim lighting adds to your eerie surroundings of narrow passageways, chambers, and interconnected tunnels. During your walk, you'll see The Gallery, used as a shelter during WWII; St. Restituta Crypt, a stunning example of late-Roman and Byzantine architecture; and the Archaeological area of Sant'Eulalia, home to 4th century BC ruins.
PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
En route to Cagliari Underground, your drive will stop for photos boasting unforgettable panoramic setting.
LUNCH
Enjoy a lunch of mixed appetizers of cold cuts, cheeses and vegetables. A first course includes typical Sardinian pasta such as gnocchetti with sheep's gorgonzola, spaghetti with sausage and tomato sauce, and fregola (similar to couscous) with mushrooms. A main course includes stewed suckling pig and goat with sides of roast potatoes and seasonal mixed vegetables. For dessert, there's mixed Sardinian products with moscato (sweet wine). Refreshments include wine and water.
