Cape Caccia & Wine Tasting
Moderate Activity
Be sure to read the Special Notes further down this page for important requirements and restriction.
Your tour begins in Alghero where your guide will escort you on a walking tour of the medieval quarter. View the Palazzo d' Albis, the former residence of the Spanish governor. This is where the Spanish emperor Charles V addressed Alghero's citizens before embarking on his 1541 campaign against the Ottomans. Gaze upon the Church of San Francesco, a 14th century cathedral that took more than 200 years to be completed.
Onboard your air-conditioned motorcoach, we'll travel 45 minutes north along the wild and dramatic seascape of Sardinia's coastline. Take in the view of the famed Rivera del Corallo named after the coast's vivid red coral cliffs.
We'll stop at Cape Caccia for a photo opportunity at its viewpoint. Below its headland lie the famed Grotto de Nettuno or Grottos of Neptune. With just enough time for a photo, we'll re-board the motorcoach and set off for the next leg of our excursion to a vineyard.
At the Wine Resort Leda' D'Ittiri, you'll tour the grounds and have a chance to taste 2 to 3 local wines. This local vintner is renowned for producing wine from Sardinia's Vermentino, Cannonau and Cagnulari grapes. Sample a glass accompanied by hors d'oeuvres. We'll have 60 minutes to enjoy the winery and its locally crafted wines before heading back to the pier in Alghero.
