Your tour will start in the port town of Alghero where you'll board an air-conditioned motorcoach and travel south for 60 minutes along the stunningly beautiful western coastline of Sardinia, past small coves and superb beaches, en route to the fishing village of Bosa, which is situated on the mouth of the Temo River.

In Bosa, we'll have approximately 120 minutes. This charming little fishing village is bisected by Sardinia's only navigable waterway: the Temo River. Your walking tour takes you along the riverfront past traditional red-tile roofed fishermen's houses and narrow cobblestone roads. The tour continues on to Bosa's old town where you'll view its magnificent cathedral and from a distance the ancient castle of Serravalle, which dominates the old quarter of the city. Stroll along the winding lanes of this medieval town and imagine a bygone era. You'll have free time afterwards to browse for Bosa's specialty handicraft-gifts of superb handmade lace.

Once back on board the motorcoach, we'll travel 60 minutes back to the pretty fishing port of Alghero. With an active harbor and fishing industry, the seafood here is of excellent quality and as fresh as can be found anywhere.

We'll have 60 minutes in Alghero. Your guide will escort you on a walking tour of the ruins of the Bastione Maddelena, as well as view the exterior of the Palazzo d' Albis, the former residence of the Spanish governor. This is where the Spanish emperor Charles V addressed Alghero's citizens before embarking on his 1541 campaign against the Ottomans. Continuing on to the Church of San Francesco, you'll see a 14th century cathedral that took more than 200 years to be completed.

After the tour, you'll have time to spend on your own. Explore the town further or shop for some of Alghero's specialties, such as baskets, coral jewelry and local handicrafts. The nearest shopping area is located along Piazza Civica and via Carlo Alberto, about five minutes from the pier.
