Are you ready to party? Playa de las Americas, Tenerife's largest resort, has the reputation as the island's party capital. True, there's a lively mix of sun, sand, music, dancing and clubs but it's also a fun family destination full of attractions.

Enjoy an entire day sightseeing, partaking in water sports, looking for bargains in the many shops, or visiting one of the many parks. We'll leave the itinerary up to you since it's your day your way. Just be sure to bring along sunscreen, a hat, towels and adequate sun protection. Changing facilities are not available so wear your swimsuit underneath your clothes. Also, be advised that water sports like jet-skiing and scuba diving, parks, cruises and other activities are at an extra fee.

Your day begins as you board your air-conditioned motorcoach at the pier for a scenic one-hour drive along the coast to the island's southwest tip to Playa de las Americas. Once foreboding and desolate, the area was transformed in the 1960s into a number one vacation destination with hotels, restaurants, shops and lots of sand. After you arrive, you'll be greeted with beautiful blue skies and gentle breezes. Then, you're on your own for over four hours to discover the many pleasures this party city has to offer. The beach is a perfect place to start. You may wish to take a dive in the clear waters or lounge on the sand. If you're looking for more action, water sports like jet-skiing, scuba diving, windsurfing, and parasailing are available. Dry off and you're ready for more family-sized adventures like go-carting or mountain biking.

Playa de las Americas is also home to many parks. Did you know that one of Europe's largest water parks is here? Siam Park boasts over 30 attractions including waterslides, pulsating rides and a number of restaurants.

If shopping is foremost on your mind, then head into the heart of town. Here, you'll find designer outlets and shopping centers with the opportunity to pick up souvenirs for yourself and others.

But these are just a few suggestions; you may find your own bit of island paradise. But at the end of your visit, you'll climb back aboard your motorcoach for the scenic ride back to your ship.
