What you will visit:
Guided Driving Tour
Explore magnificent San Juan on a guided scenic drive. Board your air-conditioned motorcoach and travel through Old San Juan along narrow streets, passing sights such as the medieval cathedral, Parque de las Palomas, and the Pablo Casals Museum. Your tour includes a stop at Fort San Cristóbal, built by the Spanish between 1634 and 1771. Strategically designed to confuse enemies, every corner and level holds a hidden surprise as you walk through five different areas. The tour then continues into New San Juan, the more contemporary and elegant part of the city. Here, high-rise buildings and major commercial centers dominate the landscape. See the beautiful beaches and the lavish Condado resort area before concluding at the airport.
Fort San Cristóbal (self-guided)
Fort San Cristóbal towers above Old San Juan and was built by the Spanish between 1634 and 1771. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Castillo de San Cristóbal is one of the largest fortifications ever built in the Americas. Designed to confuse enemies, every corner and level reveals hidden surprises as you explore five distinct areas, each functioning as a self-sufficient unit. Highlights include the long, dark tunnels once used to move soldiers and cannons. As you walk the halls, look for drawings etched on the walls by soldiers. The Santa Barbara Chapel stands in the main plaza, while the garitas, or sentry boxes, served as lookout points. The oceanfront Devil's Sentry Box is steeped in legend, said to have swallowed soldiers. Panoramic views offer spectacular photo opportunities.
What you will see along the way:
Old San Juan is a walled city full of character and charm. Its picturesque streets are lined with colonial churches, historic homes, and impressive government buildings-shining examples of French and Spanish architectural influence. One of the city's most distinct features is its colorful gray-blue cobblestone pavement. Continuing into New San Juan, the modern and elegant side of the city, you will see high-rise buildings, bustling commercial centers, and beautiful beaches lining the coastline. The drive also takes you past the lavish Condado resort district.

Special Notes
This tour is for guests departing on flights after 1:00PM. Upon disembarkation, please collect your bag, go through customs, and hand your bag to your tour driver who will stow and lock it underneath your bus. Due to walking required at the fort, the activity level is substantial. The fort is not wheelchair accessible. There is a steep ramp to access the fort (about 65 paces one way). The first level features the barracks, gun rooms, and video presentation. The next level requires walking up another steep ramp (about 35 paces one way). Accessing the third level observation ports (for the best views of the city) requires going up another steep ramp (about 65 paces one way). Watch for low passageways and uneven, steep, and slippery surfaces. Use care on the stairs and ramps. Good sturdy footwear will make your visit safer and more pleasant. Some of the stops are unguided allowing guests to browse on their own. Traffic in old and new San Juan can be congested. Alternate routes are implemented whenever possible.
