What you will visit:

San Francisco Waterfront Sail by Tall Ship
A journey aboard the Gas Light is a living connection to San Francisco's maritime past. Embark on an adventure aboard the majestic 72-foot-tall ship Gas Light, a faithful replica of the Gold Rush-era scow schooners that once filled San Francisco Bay by the hundreds. Your journey begins with a narrated stroll along the historic waterfront. At the pier, step aboard your iconic vessel and raise a complimentary glass of champagne or sparkling cider in a welcome toast. For the next 2.5 hours, relax in comfort as the Gas Light glides smoothly across the bay. Though steeped in history, she offers modern amenities and exceptional stability. Take in breathtaking views and the abundant marine life while enjoying snacks and beverages. Guests are welcome to join the crew in raising 2,000 square feet of sails.

What you will see along the way:
As you set sail, San Francisco Bay unfolds in every direction with stunning panoramas and heritage landmarks. You'll glide past the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, the infamous island of Alcatraz comes into view and, to the east, San Francisco's skyline rises, its mix of modern towers and historic architecture sparkling in the light. Keep watch on the water for harbor seals, sea lions, and seabirds, frequent companions along the route. Lucky guests may even spot dolphins.

Schedule

Special Notes

Guests make a 10-minute walk each way between the cruise ship pier and the tour vessel. Dress in layers as it can be chilly on the bay. Athletic shoes are best and high heels are not recommended. The boat is very stable; seasickness is rarely an issue.
