What you will visit:
St. Martins
The 200-year-old village features twin covered bridges, a small harbor and a lighthouse, favorite subjects for photographers and painters. You'll have time to walk around and explore the harbor, visit the lighthouse, and stroll the quaint gardens nestled between the covered bridges.
St. Martins Sea Caves and Beach
Over time, waves have carved caves out of the cliffs. Together with your guide you'll comb the rocky beach for "wish rocks," catch a glimpse of the sea caves under the cliffs and take a closer look at these unique caverns (tide permitting).
Old City Market
Located in the heart of Saint John, the oldest working farmers' market in Canada is still a popular meeting place for local residents. The market first opened in 1876 and its distinctive roof mimics the shape of a ship's hull.
What you will see along the way:
On your guided drive travel along Prince William Street while your guide regales you with stories behind the unique architecture of the attractive stone buildings that were built after the Great Fire of 1877. Many of the lovely structures in the city's historic district, are now modern establishments. Then, settle in for a one-hour, scenic drive to charming St. Martins.
Photo Opportunity:
Reversing Rapids
Fallsview Park offers the best vantage point in the city to witness the Reversing Rapids. This unique natural phenomenon caused by the monstrously high tides of the Bay of Fundy that reverse the flow of the powerful St. John River.
