WHAT YOU VISIT
- Christ the Redeemer Statue and Tijuca National Forest
Combine a visit to the Statue of Christ and Tijuca National Forest. After departing the pier by bus, you will switch transportation to small vans and start enjoying the scenery of the largest rainforest. Arriving on top of Corcovado Mountain, Rio's highest peak, continue up escalators to the main viewing platform. Headed by French sculptor Paul Landownsky, a team of artisans labored on the 125-foot-tall concrete and soapstone figure. Completed in 1931, the statue is, along with Sugarloaf Mountain, one of Rio's internationally recognized symbols.
