Board your air-conditioned transport, and begin a fantastic daylong adventure exploring this jewel of Brazil. Experience the sights and sounds of Brazil's Cidade Maravilhosa - the "Marvelous City" as you travel through downtown Rio with its mix of dazzling high-rises and colonial architecture.
Leave the urban energy of this dynamic city behind, and arrive at the base of Corcovado Mountain. Corcovado Mountain, Rio's highest peak, is also known as one of the new seven world wonders, the Christ the Redeemer Statue. Board a train and ride to the top of the mountain, then continue up escalators to the main viewing platform. Headed by French sculptor Paul Landownsky, a team of artisans labored on the 125-foot tall concrete and soapstone figure. Completed in 1931, the statue is, along with Sugarloaf Mountain, one of Rio's internationally recognized symbols. Pause and photograph this artistic wonder as you take in the stunning surroundings and dramatic blue skies.
Head back down the mountain and trade breathtaking views for culinary delights as you enjoy lunch at one of Rio's best churrascaria (steakhouse) restaurants. Enjoy a Brazilian-style barbeque accompanied by salads.
After a delicious lunch, board your transportation and drive past Rio's famed Ipanema and Copacabana beaches. The beach at Ipanema became widely known by the song "The Girl from Ipanema" written by Antonio Carlos Jobim and Vinícius de Moraes, and Copacabana is famed for its stunning art deco promenade and dazzling views of the city. Enjoy views of both white sand beaches before continuing on to Sugar Loaf Station.
At the Station, board a cable car for a ride to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain, the symbol of Rio de Janeiro, and take in the panoramic views. The viewing platforms on the summit and at Urca Station, half way up the mountain, offer unforgettable vistas of this magical city.
