Sightseeing tour of Riga
Discover Riga's many charming sides with an excursion that begins with relaxing tour by coach followed by free time in Old Town Riga. Your itinerary begins with a drive through Centrs, Riga's city center and home to over 800 beautiful Art Nouveau buildings. Drive by Riga's Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site acclaimed for its well-preserved medieval center, semi-circle of boulevards with a green belt on both sides of the City Canal and wooden structures that date back 300 years, and a rectangular network of streets and wooden architecture from the 18th and 19th centuries.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITY (From the Bus)
A stop at the Freedom Monument in Centrs will give you the chance to take a memorable shot of this iconic symbol of Latvian independence. Erected in 1935, it became the heart of the Latvian independence movement in the late 1980s.

SNACK
One of the joys of foreign travel is sampling local cuisine. You will have free time in the Old Town of Riga to enjoy local drinks and snacks (paid by yourselves) or buy souvenirs.

SHOPPING
In addition to world-renowned brands, Old Town is home to a variety of shops specializing in clothing, accessories, jewelry and craftware.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Free time in Old Town allows time for photos of many of its architectural treasures like the 110-year-old Cat House, known for the cat sculptures that sit atop the turrets; and the impressive House of Blackheads (destroyed during World War II, the 14th century marvel was resurrected in 1999).

See the 155-year-old Latvian Opera House, a Neo-Classic gem perched at the edge of Riga's Old Town.
As you make your way back to the ship, your motorcoach will take you across the river for a breathtaking panoramic view of Old Town, an idyllic end to your tour.
