What you will visit:
Wendake Amerindian Village
Canada's only surviving Huron community is located northwest of Quebec City on the opposite shore of the St. Charles River. Upon arrival, meet a guide who is proudly involved in the community. Become acquainted with the daily life and customs of the Huron people in the longhouse and learn about the techniques used for meat drying and food preservation methods in the smokehouse. Free time at the village offers the chance to do a little exploring, and a path leads to a replica of a 17th-century Huron village with wooden longhouses.
What you will see along the way:
Quebec City, the capital of the Canadian province of Quebec, was founded in 1608. Considered one of the most beautiful cities in North America, it brims with living history, 17th-century architecture, elegant churches, and heritage buildings. The Historic District of Old Quebec, dates to the 1600s and encompasses both the Upper Town and Lower Town as well as gates, ramparts and fortification walls. The Wendake Amerindian Village is just a quick drive from port.
