What you will visit:

The White Mountains by Conway Scenic Railroad

Set off on a memorable adventure through some of New England's most breathtaking scenery aboard the Conway Scenic Railroad. Begin with a scenic 90-minute motorcoach drive to the charming village of North Conway, New Hampshire. If time permits, stroll through the town's inviting shops and cozy cafés, soaking in its classic New England character. The heart of your journey begins aboard a restored 1950s passenger train, where a one-way two-hour narrated ride brings the region's beauty to life. Wind through mountain ranges, cross over rivers and trestles, and climb 1,886 feet (575m) to reach the storied Crawford Notch Station, dating back to 1891. Pause to admire the sweeping mountain views before reboarding the motorcoach for the approximate two-hour return drive to Portland.

What you will see along the way:

As the motorcoach pulls out of Portland, the city streets give way to tree-lined roads, with views of weathered barns, rolling farmland and clusters of white clapboard houses. The drive climbs gently through foothills until you near North Conway, where the forest thickens and you may glimpse the Saco River. Board the train and travel through the Mount Washington Valley, with evergreens lining the tracks. The Saco River reappears, along with meadows filled with wildflowers and arched tree tunnels. As the train climbs, steep rock faces rise beside the tracks. The train crosses trestles as you look down into wooded ravines and out across undulating slopes and a vast sweep of wilderness.

Lunch/Snacks:

A meal is included.
