WHAT YOU VISIT
Langham Wine Estate
Set in the ideal conditions of a warm microclimate and chalk soils, the Langham Wine Estate boasts the perfect terroir for grape growing and wine production. The beautiful 30-acre vineyard is planted solely with the classical Champagne varieties Chardonnay, Pinot noir and Pinot Meunier, and the results are remarkable wines, with awards and accolades from the Sommelier Wine Awards and the Independent English Wine Awards. Local Connection tours are led under the tutelage of the Tasting Room manager or another member of the Tasting Room team will offer an insider's look at the grape-to-glass process.
LUNCH
Sip a variety of the vineyard's finest products during a guided tasting session then savor a picnic style lunch selection of finger sandwiches and traditional scones crafted from locally sourced ingredients.
WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
A relaxed and scenic drive from Portland port brings you to Langham Wine Estate. Starting in historic Portland Harbor, which was used for over 500 years by the British Royal Navy and is now one of the largest man-made harbors in the world, you will travel through the rolling hills of Dorset through the historic market town of Dorchester and the picturesque village of Puddletown, which is said to have been the inspiration for the town of Weatherby in Thomas Hardy's Far from The Madding Crowd.
