WHAT YOU VISIT
Cape Recife Marine Reserve & Coastline by 4x4
The serene Cape Recife Nature Reserve is a protected coastal sanctuary boasting rugged beaches, historical ruins, and the SANCCOB Foundation Center, which saves sea birds and help the rehabilitation and release of penguins back into the wild. This family-friendly tour kicks off with a behind-the-scenes look at SANCCOB's dedicated staff and volunteers who provide medical care, administer medication, and feed sick, injured, or oiled seabirds. After your visit, you'll board a 4x4 and your specialized guide will drive along the magnificent Eastern Cape coastline, where dolphins play in the crystal-clear waves and migrating whales and their calves can be seen close to shore. African penguins are often found on the rocks, and sea stars, urchins, crabs and other interesting ocean organisms and sea birds call this intertidal zone home.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
You'll find many photo ops during your visit beginning with the pearl white sandy beaches sharply contrasted against the backdrop of the inky blue Indian Ocean. Abundant bird life co-exists in the reserve like African black oystercatchers and cormorants along the rocky shores. Have your camera poised to catch an elusive antelope and a variety of small game.

SNACKS
Your adventure concludes with a memorable al fresco meal of traditional finger snacks and refreshments.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THE WAY
Spot the historic 1849 lighthouse, coastal dunes and if lucky, endangered African penguins, Cape gannets, and various coastal birds as your guide drives along the shoreline.
