WHAT YOU VISIT
Phuket Old Town
Originally settled by traders from China, India, and Portugal in the 16th century, Phuket's Old Town grew in wealth during the tin mining boom in the 19th century. During this excursion you design yourself, you'll find enchanting streets that feature Thai temples, Chinese shrines and "Sino-Portuguese" architecture (European mixed with Chinese modern) made popular in the early 20th century. Your half-day step back in time begins as you board your motorcoach for a scenic, 30-minute drive. Once you disembark at Limelight Avenue with map in hand, you're ready to explore. You may wish to visit Chalong Temple, the most revered of the island's 39 Buddhist temples. Your excursion concludes with a relaxing drive back to the pier.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
One of the most outstanding examples of "Sino-Portuguesse" architecture is the Phra Pitak Chinpracha mansion dating back to 1903. Now a museum, the mansion offers a look into how wealthy families once lived in Phuket.

LUNCH
When you've worked up an appetite, there are numerous authentic Thai restaurants as well as an array of international cuisines to choose from.

SHOPPING
Shopping opportunities are plentiful with many shops selling everything from precious gems to crafts, Thai cotton and silk, semi-precious stones, pearls and souvenirs.
