An Immersive Experience: Panama's BEC & the Canal
At just over 100 years old, the Panama Canal remains one of the great man-made wonders of the modern world. But there is also a deep culture to discover at the Brand Experience Center located in Casco Antiguo. Through interactive tours and guided tastings, BEC brings you closer to the essence and spirit of Panama's most beloved brands. Here, you'll sample coffee, chocolate and beer-three of Panama's important industries. After tasty samplings you'll travel to the Agua Clara Locks Visitor Center, part of the monumental Panama Canal Expansion-the largest project undertaken since the canal's original construction. For a look at the Neopanamax ships that navigate the locks, stroll to the observation area and marvel at these massive vessels. And you can't miss Gatun Lake, a mostly freshwater reservoir set in the center of the canal.

Take a walk up to the Agua Clara Locks Observation Area for a look at the Neopanamax ships that navigate the locks. Designed to fit the expanded Panama Canal's larger locks, these massive vessels can reach up to 366 meters (1,200 feet) long and 49 meters (160 feet) wide.

After you tender ashore, you'll have views of the Panama Canal's immense scale and the surrounding tropical jungle en route to Casco Antiguo.
