The adventurous traveler who likes to see it all will treasure this full-day tour that explores Sapporo's most popular attractions and activities.

Board your comfortable motorcoach and enjoy a scenic one-hour drive from Otaru to Sapporo, the prefectural capital and premier city of Hokkaido. Your day begins with a photo stop at the Sapporo Clock Tower, a short walk from Odori Park. Built in 1878 and originally used as the drill hall of Sapporo Agricultural College (now Hokkaido University), it is a symbol of this great city and is designated an Important Cultural Asset by the Japanese government. Architectural enthusiasts will be interested in the fact that the tower's balloon frame was a popular style in the United States at the time. But the calligraphy that is brushed on the wood panel entranceway lends a decidedly Japanese flair. The pendulum clock, made by the Howard Clock Co. of Boston, was installed in October 1881, and the bell's sound has been selected as one of Japan's One Hundred Best Sounds.

Continue on to Odori Park, a one-mile-long sanctuary that cuts through downtown Sapporo. Enjoy your free time to explore this area. Resplendent with colorful flowerbeds, refreshing fountains, and a water play zone for children, it also contains various monuments and statues, including "Black Slide Mantra" by world-famous sculptor Isamu Noguchi (1904-1988). Originally constructed in 1871 as a firebreak, Odori Park hosts several festivals throughout the year and is especially renowned as the central spot for the Sapporo Snow Festival in February. Grab a bite and then walk to the eastern end of the park where you'll discover the 482-foot-high Sapporo TV Tower, which offers dramatic views of the city (a separate admission is required).

Refreshed, it's on to the Sapporo outer wholesale market. Famous for supplying local restaurants, it has become one of the city's most popular tourist attractions and offers an authentic glimpse into the local lifestyle. You can get a chance for purchase snacks, local fresh dishes in this market. For your final destination, prepare to top the day off at the Okurayama Ski Jump Hill. Sapporo's Winter Olympic Games were held in 1972, and this ski jump hill has remained as a monument to the event.

At the completion of your comprehensive tour, sit back and relax with your fellow travelers as you enjoy a motorcoach ride back to Otaru Port.
