Your day of rejuvenation begins with a scenic, 60-minute motorcoach ride through Otaru Town, en route to the Jozankei Spa.
Affectionately referred to as the adjoining room of Sapporo, the Jozankei Spa is a hot-springs resort quietly nestled in a dramatic gorge. The scenery is beautiful and must have been surprising when the first inn was founded by the monk Jozan 130 years ago. The waters of this hot-spring bath are slightly saline, which is considered quite therapeutic for joint and digestive ailments. An onsen, or hot-spring bath, is a time-honored Japanese tradition enjoyed for centuries. The indoor and outdoor springs produce warm, mineral-infused waters considered to have holistic healing properties. Sink in and feel your cares melt away as serenity and calm wash over you.
During your free time you can choose to take a walk and explore Jozan Gensen Park and its stunning natural landscapes. This area is also famous for the origin of the "Kappa" or Japanese water sprite legend.
At the completion of your soak, you and your fellow travelers will return to the motorcoach and enjoy a relaxing scenic drive back to the ship.
