WHAT YOU VISIT
Sail, Shrimp & Sip in Oslofjord
Sail into yesteryear with a cruise on the historic Vega schooner, one of the most solid vessels of her size in Norway. Built in 1908, its main and lower decks have been totally restored with traditional craftsmanship utilizing recycled hardwoods of the finest quality. In recent years, this tall ship has served as a small expedition vessel, running multiple seasons in the Arctic. Today, she sails the Oslofjord as a certified coastal vessel and is the only small ship in the Oslo area approved for coastal operations of this kind. Vega is operated by a family-run company with deep maritime roots and a strong environmental commitment.

PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES
The deep-blue waters of the Oslofjord are home to harbor porpoises, harbor seals, cormorants, Arctic terns and white-tailed eagles.

SNACKS
Sit back and enjoy the scenery while feasting on a seafood buffet featuring fresh shrimp served with bread, lemon, dill, butter and mayonnaise accompanied by one drink of your choice: wine, beer or soft drink/coffee/tea.

WHAT YOU SEE ALONG THEWAY
As the captain cruises out over the icy-blue waters, you'll have unobstructed views of idyllic islets, the Dyna Lighthouse and skerries that dot the coastline.

Schedule

Special Notes

Please be advised that there might be a short walk of up to 400 meters (1,312 feet) to join the boat. The boat has a short, steep gangway and steep steps to reach the onboard toilets, however there is a handrail. A jacket, hat and comfortable, non-slip shoes are recommended. There is no shade on the top deck, so extra care needs to be taken of exposed skin in sunny or windy conditions.
