Your journey begins at Namba Yasaka Shrine, famous for its massive lion-head stage, believed to ward off evil spirits and bring good fortune. From there, step back in time at the Osaka Museum of Housing and Living, where Edo-period streets and homes are recreated in stunning detail, providing insight into life in old Osaka.
Next, head to Abeno Harukas, Japan's tallest skyscraper, and enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the city from the 60th-floor observation deck. This modern marvel offers a striking contrast to the traditional settings visited earlier.
The final stop is Shinsekai(Tsutenkaku Area), a retro district that preserves the charm of Showa-era Japan. Stroll through its vibrant streets lined with neon signs, nostalgic shops, and local eateries offering iconic Osaka street food like kushikatsu. You'll have some free time here to explore, eat, or simply soak in the atmosphere.
Begin your journey from the Port of Osaka on this captivating full-day tour designed to showcase the best of Osaka's cultural and urban landmarks.
Your first stop is Namba Yasaka Shrine, an off-the-beaten-path spiritual gem nestled in the heart of the Namba district. The shrine is best known for its massive lion-head-shaped stage, said to ward off evil spirits and attract good fortune. A visit here offers both spiritual insight and a striking photo opportunity-a quiet yet symbolic introduction to the city's spiritual heritage.
Next, travel to the Osaka Museum of Housing and Living, also known as "Kurashi no Konjakukan". This unique museum invites visitors to explore meticulously recreated streets and homes from Osaka's past. You'll feel as though you've stepped into a time machine as you walk through full-scale replicas of merchant houses, alleyways, and townscapes from the late Edo period. Exhibits include not only architecture but also traditional lifestyles, seasonal festivals, and more-offering an immersive experience that connects you deeply with local history and culture.
The tour then continues to Abeno Harukas, Japan's one of the tallest skyscraper at 300 meters. Here, you'll ascend to the observation deck located on the 60th floor, where stunning panoramic views of the sprawling Osaka cityscape await. On a clear day, you can see as far as Kyoto, Kobe, and even Awaji Island. This sky-high perspective offers a breathtaking contrast to the traditional scenes you encountered earlier, highlighting Osaka's dynamic modern identity.
After taking in the views, straight to Shinsekai(Tsutenkaku Area), one of Osaka's most iconic and nostalgic neighborhoods. Developed in the early 20th century, Shinsekai (literally "New World") was modeled partially after Paris and Coney Island, yet evolved into something uniquely local. Today, its retro charm is preserved through neon lights, Showa-era storefronts, and a bustling local food scene. You'll have free time here to explore at your own pace-whether trying kushikatsu, shopping for souvenirs, or soaking in the atmosphere under the watchful gaze of Tsutenkaku Tower, Shinsekai's symbolic landmark.
Finally, board your coach and return to the port, wrapping up a day filled with fascinating contrasts-from sacred shrines and historical recreations to ultra-modern skyscrapers and retro local charm.
This tour does not include lunch so please enjoy your free time at Shinsekai and purchase your lunch.
The parking of Abeno Harukas to observation deck takes about 15minutes. The guest needs to walk about 400m on half way. Depends on the season, the guest may needs to wait for the EV which goes up to the observation deck for few momments.
Osaka Museum of Housing and Living (Osaka Kurashi no Konjyakukan) is prohibited to drink/eat something in exhibition area.
Please bring the local currency for additional payment.
