A shuttle service will take you from the ship to the embarkation point for the Zodiac-a small but powerful boat that will take you on a thrillingly fast ride in the stunningly blue waters around Noumea. Before boarding, you'll be briefed on safety and be outfitted with a lifejacket. The Zodiac will then zip from the harbor, past your ship, out into the bays that surround the peninsula of Noumea. You'll cross in front of the Baie de l'Orphelinat, cruise under a bridge into the Baie des Citrons (Lemon Bay), whose beach is a favorite destination for Nouméans and visitors alike. Continuing on, you'll reach the Ile aux Canards (Duck Island)-a coral islet in Anse Vata Bay.
You'll disembark and enjoy a couple of hours at your leisure with exclusive access to the amenities on the island. Your options include swimming, sunbathing, relaxing on the beach and snorkeling. The islet is surrounded by colorful coral, fish and more, which you can explore by following a unique, underwater path that is marked with signage to guide you through this underwater world. You'll re-board the Zodiac and race back across the bays, with great views of Noumea's beaches and waterfront, back to the ship.
